Grantham’s Bend
Granthams Bend Track Rutherglen 3685
Granthams Bend is a large reserve set on a sweeping bend of the Murray River near Wahgunyah. Open scrubland offers good walking and bush biking, and there are some nice sandy beaches to be found, particularly on the apex of the bend. Just minutes from Wahgunyah, and even closer to the nearest wineries All Saints Estate & St Leonards, there is generally good access, although a four wheel drive is recommended for anything but the main access roads. Grantham’s Bend is linked by the Bridge to Bridge cycling trail – an easy riverside trail that takes you directly into the township of Wahgunyah.
How to get there
Located 10km north of Rutherglen. From Rutherglen take the Corowa-Wahgunyah road and at 9.8km, just prior to the Federation Bridge take the turn-off to the right (east) signposted Granthams Bend Reserve. This access road proceeds 300m to enter the forests with dispersed bush camping along the river. {Lewis, C.
