Getting Here
About an hour from anywhere? Well maybe a bit more than an hour in some cases, but Rutherglen is easily accessed no matter where you are travelling from.
Ideally located on the Murray Valley Highway, and just off the M31 Hume Highway, Rutherglen is an ideal base to explore Victoria's High Country, from the rivers to the mountains and everything in between.
Road
Rutherglen is a 3 hour drive from Melbourne via the M31 Hume Freeway. Take the Hume Highway north, and exit at Springhurst for the final 15km stretch into Rutherglen.
Sydney is a 6 hour drive to Rutherglen via the M31 Hume Freeway to the Murray Valley Highway overpass (15km south of Albury Wodonga). Follow the Murray Valley Highway for approximately 25km directly into Rutherglen.
Canberra is a 4 hour drive from Rutherglen. Take the Barton Highway north, exiting onto the southbound lanes of the Hume Highway. Remain on the Hume Highway, exiting at the Murray Valley Highway overpass (15km sough of Albury Wodonga) Follow the Murray Valley Highway for approximately 25km into Rutherglen.
Air
Albury airport is about 50 minutes from Rutherglen. Qantas and REX (Regional Express) operate several flights daily from Melbourne and Sydney. Check airline websites for current flight information. Hire cars are available from Albury Airport.
Train
Rail services run daily from Melbourne and Sydney to Wangaratta and Albury. View VLine and NSW TrainLink XPT for timetable information.
Bus
